CYTE was one of only a few CROs that attended the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress 2023, which took place over four days in August at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre in The Netherlands.
We shared an exhibition stand with our partner, the Thrombosis Research Institute (TRI), showcasing our joint heritage and respective strengths on the stand panels. In addition, the GARFIELD-AF risk calculator – which has since been feted as providing predictive advantages over older risk scores for atrial fibrillation – was available on an interactive screen for delegates to trial. Important new GARFIELD-AF data, submitted by TRI, was presented during the congress in an oral session by statistician Saverio Virdone and as a moderated poster by University of Oxford research fellow and cardiologist Dr C. Fielder Camm.
Our onsite meeting room was a useful space to meet with collaborators – including some of our partners and the global and national key opinion leaders who are members of the CYTE study network, Locate. It was also where we hosted the GARDENIA Study Steering Committee meeting to discuss study progress and actions. During the congress, we attended an off-site meeting hosted by our sponsor Anthos that brought together some of the GARDENIA National Coordinating Investigators and LILAC-TIMI National Lead Investigators to share updates and discuss mutually relevant information.
After the congress, we produced an ESC Congress 2023 Showreel with highlights of our time in Amsterdam, which you can view here. As Europe’s leading cardiology congress, ESC has become a must on our annual calendar. We hope to see you at the 2004 congress, which is taking place in London, and look forward to sharing updates in due course.
